Hamburg-based novomind AG continues to grow and looks back on another excellent fiscal year. In 2016, the independent software developers generated revenues of EUR 27.8 million (2015: EUR 24.1 million). The 15 percent increase means that the company reached its double-digit growth target for the 11th consecutive year. Consolidated revenues of the novomind Group, which comprises novomind AG as well as novomind iSHOP GmbH, novomind Egypt LLC and Piazza Blu², totalled EUR 34.9 million in 2016 (2015: EUR 29.5 million). 20 new clients were won across the Group’s business segments, including Arvato, a subsidiary of Bertelsmann, shoe retailer Görtz and the Federal Employment Agency. novomind AG’s headcount passed the 250 mark. The company owes its success to its client-oriented portfolio of products and services – the development and implementation of user-friendly software solutions for swift, modern online performance in e-commerce and customer service.
“The Internet business is all about quality, usability and speed – in other words, about performance,” says Peter Samuelsen, founder and CEO of novomind. “We strive to develop the world’s most user-friendly software solutions in our segment,” Peter Samuelsen adds. More precisely, this means to constantly develop new solutions for customer service, e-shops, product information management (PIM) and international marketplace integration which can be used and integrated by SMEs and large global corporations alike.
Modern software solutions with excellent performance are key to novomind’s success. As independent developers looking back on some 17 years’ online experience, the IT specialists from Hamburg design individualised solutions for different requirement profiles together with their clients and customise them for practical use. And they can do so at an impressive speed: The implementation of a new, fully functional online shop for retailers and wholesalers or of an intelligent FAQ centre for the customer service department of enterprises and institutions is today possible within only two to three months. “Most of our solutions are available from the cloud, which means maximum flexibility and minimum effort for our clients,” says Peter Samuelsen.
The move to Asia was a particular highlight of the past year: In cooperation with OSP (Otto Group Solution Provider) from Dresden, Germany, novomind planned and implemented a consulting and IT project for retail giant CP ALL Group, one of the largest private-sector companies in Thailand. This means that novomind has successfully gained a foothold in one of the largest growth markets in Asia.
The company intends to continue its growth strategy of the past years also in 2017. “The company’s development shows that we are on the right track. Unlike some international players or listed giants, we are independent developers who can concentrate on what we can do best, namely identify and analyse cur clients’ needs and requirements and offer them customised solutions,” Samuelsen says.
The conditions for continued double-digit growth are good. Demand for individualised, easy-to-integrate software solutions is huge – all business segments are recording a pick-up in incoming orders and the markets are becoming broader and increasingly international. One of the company’s objectives for 2017 therefore is to continuously expand the national and international partner network.
