International relaunch: New Gerry Weber online shop relies on software infrastructure from novomind

Fashion and lifestyle company relies on new platform for three brands – PIM and SHOP system from a single source.

Gerry Weber International AG bases its e-commerce strategy on a new software infrastructure: the fashion and lifestyle company headquartered in Halle (Westphalia) has placed the relaunch of its international online shop in the hands of Hamburg-based software expert novomind AG. novomind iSHOP replaces the formerly used shop system with immediate effect. At the same time, the novomind iPIM product information management system was introduced for the centralized and efficient supply of constantly up-to-date product data. The international relaunch is designed for a total of six countries as well as an EU-wide web shop and now provides a central platform for the company’s three brands GERRY WEBER, TAIFUN and SAMOON.

“By relaunching our online shop, we are sending a clear signal for a fresh breeze and a dynamic new start also for our e-commerce activities,” says Michael Rietdorf, interim Executive Vice President of Gerry Weber. “The new software infrastructure from a single source makes our processes faster and more efficient. In addition, we can offer our customers a more personalized shopping experience with even more services and new features.”
The new online platform for all three Gerry Weber brands includes numerous new functions that further increase the customer benefit through noticeable added values. A key feature is the individualized shop environment: visually elaborate themed worlds show many current looks and lead each user to suitable categories and products by means of real-time personalization. The in-memory technology used ensures fast page loading times and quick search results at all times. The new online shop also integrates the stocks of all Gerry Weber stores as well as a complex, free customer card system for bonus shopping.

High performance and high speed are the key characteristics of the novomind iSHOP shop system. It permits fast page loading times and optimum presentation of all shop areas in fully responsive design on all devices. The shop technology is supported by novomind iPIM: this PIM system for high-quality product information management in omni-channel commerce ensures fast and reliable data supply to the online shop. The product data of more than 84,000 shop items were revised and expanded in a target group-oriented manner for the relaunch of Thanks to the central PIM system, all three brands on the platform can now be efficiently supplied with up-to-date product data.

The new international online shop is planned and designed for six countries in the respective language versions. Besides Germany, the relaunch included Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Great Britain, the Netherlands and an English-language universal shop.
