TOM TAILOR GROUP relies on novomind iPIM for state-of-the-art product data management in e-commerce

International rollout for TOM TAILOR and BONITA brands
TOM TAILOR GROUP relies on novomind iPIM

TOM TAILOR, a casual fashion company operating out of Hamburg, relies on novomind iPIM for the international rollout of its e-commerce strategy. Scheduled to go live in six European online shops using five different languages, the PIM system from Hamburg-based software specialist novomind AG ensures state-of-the-art product data management across the company’s e-commerce activities.

Constantly updated and refined product data are key to the success of any e-commerce strategy particularly in the fashion sector. “Many online shoppers know exactly what they are looking for and want to proceed to their desired article with minimum fuss,” says Markus Rohmeyer, Head of PIM at novomind. Accurately and professionally managed product data translates into more satisfied customers and a lower returns ratio. This is why the TOM TAILOR GROUP relies on the novomind iPIM product management system for the complete rollout of its online shops in Europe.

When gearing up for the September 2017 launch of its new German web shop (www.tom-tailor.de), TOM TAILOR looked for a powerful and dependable out-of-the-box PIM system which would subsequently be capable of supporting numerous country rollouts as efficiently as possible. “Right from the outset we attached great importance to getting a PIM system which is standardised and adaptable at the same time,” says Dr. Maik Kleinschmidt, Vice President Digitalization TOM TAILOR GROUP. The company uses a variety of standard interfaces for data import and data export, something which is absolutely no problem with iPIM.
Following on from the successful relaunch of the company’s German web shop, TOM TAILOR has added new online shops for the Netherlands and Austria as well as an English-speaking web store (www.tom-tailor.eu), all of which build on novomind iPIM. Plans are already underway for rolling out the company’s online retail presence in Belgium and France as well as for opening a B2B shop.

The TOM TAILOR group’s second brand, BONITA, has meanwhile been brought into the fold as well; the German BONITA web shop was hooked into the company’s novomind iPIM system in December 2017. While the two core brands sell completely different articles, product data management now resides in a shared system, resulting in simplified processes. Within this system each brand occupies its visually distinguishable space and manages its own product ranges.

Only seven months passed between the initial contact in April 2017 and the live launch of the first three international web shops. During this time the company's pre-existing web shop was interfaced with novomind iPIM and the PIM support was steadily expanded.
